Tonga Parliament delegation continues engagements during China visit

The Parliamentary delegation from the Legislative Assembly of Tonga is continuing its engagements during its China visit, taking part in thematic dialogue, meetings and other activities.

In a visit to the Xingtang County at the Hebei Province, the head of delegation, Lord Vaea, was among the key speakers who delivered the opening remarks at the Thematic dialogue between CPC and Foreign Parties on the theme: Putting the People First: Mission and responsibility of Political Parties.

Lord Vaea began by providing an overview of Tongaʻs politics and governance, saying Tonga is a Constitutional Monarchy, and the only remaining royal monarchy in the Pacific.

While speaking on the theme of the dialogue, he said that in Tonga, the principle of placing people first is not only a philosophy but it is a practice carried out by Members of Parliament.

He added MPsʻ work is guided by the needs and interests of their constituencies and nation.

After the dialogue, Lord Vaea and his delegation had the privilege to meet with the Minister of the International Department, Central Committee of CPC, Mr. Liu Haixing.

A working lunch with the Director General of Hebei Foreign Affairs Office, Mr. Wang Jianfeng and a meeting with the Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Mr. Ni Yuefeng were conducted as part of the delegationʻs ongoing engagements during the visit.

While in Hebei Province, the delegation visited the Hebei Provincial Museum, Yujing Class Co. Ltd, Qiangda Pump Industry Group Xingtang Pump Co. Ltd, Xingtang Peier Carpet Technology Co. Ltd and Xingtang County Museum.
