This is an unit under the Ministry’s Corporate Services, which is responsible for providing technical support services for the Ministry’s relevant programs, divisions, stakeholders, and development partners. The unit provides technical support services in terms of policy development, policy implementation, strategic planning, and Monitoring and Evaluation. In addition, the unit is responsible for the designing the Ministry’s corporate plans, annual management plans, and monitoring and evaluation, and reporting.

In essence, the functions of the Policy and Planning unit ensures that key national policies under the Ministry’s mandates, are properly aligned to the Ministry’s outputs, relevant sector outcomes, and national outcomes. It also ensures that the Ministry’s plans are well aligned to relevant sector outcomes and national outcomes. Lastly, the unit conducts monitoring and evaluation of all programs under the Ministry in order to track progress towards indented organizational objectives, sector outcomes, and the relevant national outcomes.
